L-EHS senior will compete in Miss South Carolina Teen

Isabella McElveen has been chosen to compete in the Miss South Carolina Teen USA Pageant this Nov. 16 and 17.

Isabella will be representing the community and state as "Miss Lugoff Teen USA 2013."

She is the daughter of Sam and Donna McElveen of Laurel Crossing in Lugoff. She has two older sisters; Rachael, a President and Dean’s List senior at USC and Victoria, a freshman Pre-Vet student at Clemson.

Isabella will be graduating with honors from Lugoff-Elgin High School this year and would like to attend USC to pursue a career in broadcasting as a reporter.

She is proud to be in the National Honor Society, Beta Club and the Quill & Scroll Honor Society.

Over the past four years at L-EHS she has been active as the Yearbook Design Editor, Varsity Volleyball Co-Captain, "Homecoming Spirit Princess," "Homecoming Court 1st Runner Up," Student Council Secretary, "2012 Miss LE Fan Favorite," 2012 Miss Junior, Sophomore Student Council Representative, "2011 Miss Sophomore" and "2011 Miss Jr. LE Fan Favorite."

Isabella has been a member of the Spanish Club, (FCA) Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Key Club, Yearbook Staff, Journalism Department and JV and Varsity Volleyball.

She is devoted to helping the community through the United Way, Relay for Life, Side-Out Breast Cancer Foundation, The Ronald McDonald House, Salvation Army, (MADD) Mothers Against Drunk Drivers and the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter.

To promote health and fitness to the youth of Kershaw County, she ran her first 5k last year as part of "Team LEHS" in the "5K Jingle Bell Run" and medaled third.

She has received the "2011-12 Varsity Volleyball Coaches Award", "2012 All-Tournament Player Award", 3rd Place S.C. Academic Spread Award and was a recipient of the 2013 USC Russell Scholarship.

Isabella feels blessed and thankful to have the tremendous support from her community and state.
