Ms. McLeod, wife of the late Dalton Lawrence McLeod Jr., died Thursday, November 8, 2012. Born in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Theo and Maggie Davis. She was a member of Blaney Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher, church clerk, WMU and was also very active in the youth ministries. She retired from the U.S. Post Office, Elgin office, after 26 years of service. Ms. McLeod was an officer of the Bishopville Eastern Star, a member of the Wateree River Homeowners Association and the S.C. State Employee Association. She was the Kershaw County Homemaker of the year in 1991.

Ms. McLeod will always be remembered as one of God’s good and faithful servants. She ministered in years past to the local widows in her home town of Elgin. She and her church friends visited the elderly spreading joy and laughter to shut-ins. She so unselfishly and quietly helped those in need.

Surviving are her sons, Robert "Bobby" McLeod (Carolyn) of Blythewood, Mack McLeod (Brenda) of Lugoff; grandchildren, Kelly Marie Cobb, Tracey McLeod Self; great grandchildren, Morgan Caldwell, Rachel Caldwell, Lindsay Cobb, and Davis Cobb; sister, Elmer Denton; and a sister-in-law, Rose Partin.

She was predeceased by her husband; a son, Theo Davis McLeod; sisters, Floy Ray, and Jenny Lee Davis.

The family would also like to extend their grateful thanks to her caregivers who gave so selflessly of their time over the past 2 and a half years, Jessica Dotson, Misty Blackburn, Ashley Mock, Shirley Matthews, and the late Tina Dotson.
