Lugoff American Legion Post 195 finally has a new, permanent home and is celebrating with a dedication ceremony and open house Saturday at 1 p.m.

The new post is located at 534 Wildwood Lane in Lugoff at the corner of Sandwood Road.

“Come see the new post and enjoy the dedication and refreshments after the ceremony, Post 195 officers said. “Learn more about the American Legion and the programs your local American Legion sponsors in addition to helping veterans in the area.”

For example, Post 195 has adopted a basic training battalion at Fort Jackson as well as the JROTC unit at Lugoff-Elgin High School.

Male and female veterans that served during a war era are eligible for the American Legion, organizers said.
