Lugoff-Elgin High School students Paul Mincey, Ashley Dixon, Cody Humphries, Chris Renfroe, Alyssa Butterson and Zach Connell model the shirts being sold by Derrick Berry’s first-block marketing class at L-EHS.

Lugoff-Elgin High School’s (L-EHS) first-block marketing class has combined its T-shirt ideas with the newly popular trend, Silly-Bands. Students will be able to show school spirit with not only an awesome t-shirt, but a variety of L-EHS themed silly bands!

The shirts ask, “Who Are We?” It’s a very simple question, but do you know the answer? That’s right “LE.” The shirts featuring that phrase and the L-EHS and mascot come in sizes small to XXL, and the price is $10.

The silly bands are being offered in many different colors, and one size will fit all! The "LE" Silly Bands are $2 for a pack of three, with a variety of 14 silly bands to collect and trade. “The more you buy, the cooler you’ll look.” said Darion Hutcherson, a coach and security officer at L-EHS.

The marketing class is selling the silly bands and t-shirts as a project designed to give the students a better understanding of marketing. The students have been working hard to brainstorm items, send out surveys, order the products, and deliver them. Also, the marketing students invested their own money in the products and will collect the profits (if there are any) once the project is over. In addition to gaining marketing experience, the students also want to raise school pride among their peers and get them excited to be a student at L-EHS.
