The second day of tryouts and an informational meeting for boys and girls wishing to play for the LCSC-Kershaw soccer team in the spring season will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29 at the KCRD soccer fields. The meeting/tryouts will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 10:30 a.m.
The KCRD soccer fields are located beside the BP station on US 1 in Lugoff.
LCSC-Kershaw is starting an Academy team (or teams) in an effort to give younger players in Kershaw County a chance to start playing soccer at a higher level and not having to travel outside the county to train.  Initially, this will be for the 2013 spring season and a team will compete in an 8v8 league.
Tryouts will be led by Kershaw DOC Aron Taylor (USSF C) and Joshua Witt (USSF D).  Interested players should bring their boots, shin guards, water bottle (water will be provided) and enthusiasm.
LCSC-Kershaw was formed four years ago with one U17 boys team and expanded to a U16 and U18 boys and a U17 girls team for the fall of 2012. The U18 boys and the U17 girls won their State Open Cup at MESA on Dec. 1-2.
The tryout area will be the lighted field at the end of the dirt road on the left and signs will be posted.
