A memorial service paying tribute and honoring the life of Walter Cannaday, 83, of Camden, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, 1112 Fair Street, Camden, SC. Walter passed peacefully from this life on December 26th in Houston, Texas at the home of his daughter. In lieu of flowers, the Cannady family wishes any memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758515, Topeka, KS 66675

Mr. Cannaday was married to the late Helen Cannaday. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio and was the son of the late Herbert and Lettie Cannaday. Mr. Cannaday retired from the Army and was a retiree of the United States Post Office.

Surviving are his daughters; Helen Diane Bundrick, of Camden, SC, Bethany Cannaday Atkins, of Houston, TX; and a son Mark David Cannaday, of Lexington, SC. He was the grandfather to seven beautiful children and the great-grandfather to five. He was predeceased by a sister, Hilda Carter, of Kentucky.
