The Camden Middle School wrestling team will now send 10 wrestlers into Saturday’s Carolina Invitational in Lexington.
After qualifiers were conducted across the state and the numbers were put in, the War Eagles’ Robert Gardner was a qualifier in the 131-pound weight class and will give Jay Gates’ team double-digit qualifiers.
Camden Middle School joins Lugoff-Elgin Middle School (13 qualifiers), Castle Heights Middle School (13), Dutch Fork Middle School (11)  and defending event champion Dutchman Creek Middle School (10) as programs which will send 10 or more qualifiers into the one-day tournament.
The Carolina Invitational, which will bring together wrestlers from more than 70 schools throughout the Palmetto State, in both middle school and junior varsity competition, will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Lexington High School. Admission is $8.
