NWS issues winter weather advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect until 1 a.m. Saturday for Kershaw County, along with Fairfield and Newberry counties. The hazard types include freezing rain and sleet, but only expect ice accumulations of less than .05 inch. Rain will freeze on contact in locations below freezing and lead to hazardous travel conditions. Bridges and overpasses will be especially vulnerable to ice accumulation.
