Funeral services celebrating the life of Jim R. Rogers will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Reverend Sim Smith and Reverend George Cashwell will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 PM prior to the service. Memorials may be made in Mr. Rogers’ memory to Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2290 Heath Pond Road, Elgin, SC 29045; Kershaw Health Hospice, 124 Battleship Road, Camden, SC 29020; or Alzheimer’s Association, 919 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1000, Chicago, IL 60611.

Jim R. Rogers went to be with his heavenly father on January 26, 2013. Born in Camden, SC, he was the son of the late Rheudell G. and Ruby E. Rogers. Mr. Rogers dedicated his life to the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 17 and attended Bob Jones University and continued on to receive his Bachelor’s of Divinity from Mars Hill College. He began his service to our Lord at the First Baptist Church of Hot Springs, NC. During his life, he pastored church in Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. He was a member of the Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church where he retired as Associate Pastor.

Surviving are his wife, Betty J. Rogers of Camden; son and daughter-in-law, J. David and L. Annette Rogers of Stafford, VA; J. Mark and Donna S. Rogers of Leesburg, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Miriam R. and Dennis J. Pearson of Warrenton, VA; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; stepdaughters: Kim Brush and Debbie Moore. He was predeceased by a stepson, Dusty Cravens.
