Mary Peele Shapleigh, 88, of Tryon Estates, Columbus, N.C. and formerly of Camden, S.C. passed away on Monday January 28, 2013.

Born in Goldsboro, N.C. she was the wife of the late Donald S. Shapleigh.

She is survived by son Donald Shapleigh, Jr. and wife Shelia of Atlanta, GA, daughter Susan Shapleigh Miller and husband Patrick Miller of Suwanee, GA, and son James P. Shapleigh and wife Shari of Ithica, NY; grandchildren Timothy Shapleigh, Jonathan Shapleigh (Jennifer), Christopher Miller, Amanda Miller Corney (Christopher), Sara Shapleigh, and Chuck Shapleigh; great grandchildren Logan Corney and Landon Corney.

She was predeceased by a son, Andrew Frank Shapleigh.

A memorial celebration service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Tryon Estates with Chaplain Ralph Kuether.  There will be a reception immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Thermal Belt Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 626, Tryon, NC 28782.
