Dixie Hinson, age 88, beloved husband of Eloise Ellis Hinson, died on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Tuomey Medical Center.

Born in Lugoff, SC, he was the son of the late Rufus Hinson and Lena Matthews Hinson.

Mr. Hinson served 22 years with the United States Military and later worked and retired from CP Chemical. He was an avid fisherman and a devoted family man. He liked all people and was liked by all. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving in addition to his wife are: two sons, Joseph Ellis Hinson and his wife Melinda of Dalzell and Gregory Dale Hinson and his wife Brenda of Manning; a daughter, Fonn Hinson Burr and her husband Robbie of Sumter; one brother, Joe Seegars and his wife Ann of Camden; two sisters, Sally Ann Baker of Sumter and Nelle Catoe and her husband Tom of Lancaster; a sister-in-law, Vera Mae Hinson of Lancaster; five grandchildren, Jessica Burr Lea and her husband James, Trenton Wayne Burr and his wife Ashley, Sidney Hugh Hinson, Zachary Kendall Hinson, Casey Hinson and Damaris Rodriquez; three great grandchildren, Aislin Fonn Lea, Lauren James Lea and Savannah Shelly.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hinson was preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Barfield and her husband Bud and Sadie Bradley and her husband Levi; three brothers, Robert Hinson and his wife Kathleen, Jack Hinson and Ruby Hinson and a brother-in-law, James Baker.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 3:00pm at Wateree Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Underwood officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 22, 2013 from 4-6 pm at Bullock Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his daughter, Fonn Burr.

Memorials may be made to the Wateree Baptist Church "Cemetery Fund", 2024 Haile Street, Camden, SC 29020.
