Dennis Belue and Frankie Caulder are usually the chefs for the American Legion’s benefit dinners.

Camden’s James Leroy Belk American Legion Post No. 17 will sponsor a grilled chicken dinner Friday, March 1 from 4 to 6 p.m.

The take-out only meal will be $7 per plate with all proceeds going to Operation Comfort Warriors. Post 17 members will operate a “drive-through,” allowing patrons to drive up to the front door of the post, 1047 West DeKalb St., and pick up their meals without leaving their vehicles. To purchase a ticket or obtain additional information, call Commander James Rabon at 432-5326.

Operation Comfort Warriors (OCW) is a program dedicated to meeting the needs of wounded, injured or ill military personnel by providing them with comfort items not usually supplied by the government. OCW ensures that patients at U.S. military hospitals and warrior transition units are given items like sweat suits, DVDs, puzzles, electronic devices, books, calling cards and more. OCW also provides larger items such as ping pong tables, entertainment centers, computers, kayaks and other recreational goods for use by wounded warriors in common areas.
