Farmers Home Furniture is moving into a portion of Springdale Plaza that once served as the home to Steve & Barry’s and Winn-Dixie.

A new furniture store is just about ready to open in Camden.

Farmers Home Furniture will open in Springdale Plaza in part of the space that served as the former home of Steve & Barry’s and was once a Winn-Dixie. A grand opening ceremony is set for Dec. 16.

According to a press release, representatives from the new Famers Home Furniture store and its corporate offices in Dublin, Ga., will be on hand. The company opened its first store in Soperton, Ga., in 1949 with “fairness, trust, quality and value in mind for the customer.”

“The company is equally committed to those ideals today,” the company said.

Farmers Home Furniture has 167 locations in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Alabama.

“Since 1949, Farmers home Furniture has focused on providing quality home furnishings to our neighbors in local communities across the Southeast,” the company said. “Farmers Home Furniture offers home furnishing products and services that exceeds customer expectations and our products can be purchased for a reasonable price on a financing plan that allows for a same-day sale. With 167 stores spanning five states we have the benefit of large buying power to provide low costs without losing our hometown quality and service. Our credit modeling method has helped the residents of communities across the southeast purchase their dream furnishings for over half a century.

We would like to welcome everyone to our new location. A member of our friendly and knowledgeable staff, whose top priority is to provide excellent customer service, will greet you. This new location is decorated with the latest styles and trends in the furniture industry, which promotes an atmosphere that is comfortable and inviting to treat you, the customer, to the perfect shopping experience,” the company said in the release.

The company added, “Farmers Home Furniture is committed to being a part of the positive and progressive ideals of this community and is humbly grateful to be able to contribute to the Camden area’s growth.”

The public is invited to attend the grand opening event and tour the store afterward.
