If it is Tuesday, then Erin Blizzard must be throwing a perfect game.
For the second straight Tuesday night, the Lugoff-Elgin sophomore was virtually untouchable as she fired a five-inning perfect game in the Lady Demons’ 10-0 win over visiting Ridge View.
One week earlier, Blizzard was perfect in a 12-0 victory against Richland Northeast.
Blizzard (5-6) fanned 11 of the 15 batters she faced in her second gem which helped James Marlow’s charges to their fourth straight win. She also fanned 11 against RNE.
L-E improved to 3-2 in Region 4-4A action with the shutout while hiking its overall ledger to 5-7.
The Lady Demons pounded out 11 hits on the night with Meagan Owens cracking a two-run home run while adding another hit and driving home four runners. She also scored a run. Lindsay Simon had a 2-for-3 night with a double, a pair of RBI and scoring twice while Dallas Guerrero went 2-for-2 with a walk while knocking in two runs, scoring twice and stealing a base.
