Kershaw County School District employees and the local community are invited to learn more about the school district’s 2013-14 budget and provide feedback.  Superintendent Frank Morgan and Chief Financial Officer Donnie Wilson will hold a series of meetings across the county to explain the budget proposal, answer questions and receive suggestions.

“Although our revenue picture has improved, our operating budget is still $3 million less than five years ago,” Morgan said. “This means that we are still making critical decisions about what expenditures to fund, including areas that might be added back. These meetings are an important part of the budget development process where people can look at the proposed budget and give us their input.”

Morgan said meetings are being held in the three geographic locations of the county so that persons can attend at least one of them.

Meetings for employees will be held:

·         Thursday, April 11 at 4 p.m. in the North Central High auditorium

·         Tuesday, April 16 at 4 p.m. in the Lugoff-Elgin High auditorium

·         Monday, April 22 at 4 p.m. in the Camden High auditorium

Meetings for community members will be held:

·         Thursday, April 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the North Central High auditorium

·         Tuesday, April 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the Lugoff-Elgin High auditorium

·         Monday, April 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Camden High auditorium
