During the month of March, Lions from all across South Carolina walked the main streets of their respective cities, towns and communities as part of the first annual "South Carolina Lions Walk for Sight" to increase public awareness of Lions’ humanitarian services in the state and around the world.

Highlighting their motto, "we serve," Lions focused on public attention on their roles as servants of the less fortunate throughout the world and providers of a better quality of life to many residents of the Palmetto State.

Local Camden Lions Club members participated in the Walk by walking down Broad St. on Wednesday, March 20.

To celebrate the huge success of the statewide Walk, SC Lions will hold a concluding rally on the steps and lawn of the South Carolina State House in Columbia on Saturday at 2 p.m. Several hundred Lions and numerous State and local dignitaries are expected to gather, review and acclaim the services and achievements of Lions Clubs throughout South Carolina. Senator Mike Fair, District 6 Greenville County, will be the keynote speaker for the closing event.
