KershawHealth progress

Recently, Chairman Scott Ziemke and several of the senior members of the KershawHealth Board have been subjected to criticism that was harsh in tone, but somewhat vague and indistinct as to specific incidents wherein they had failed to discharge their duty as board members.

I take this opportunity to remind the Elgin community that Mr. Ziemke, George Corbin and Don Witham were members of the KershawHealth Board when the ambulance EMS station was established in Elgin and when the Urgent Care Center was built near Elgin.

The question of whether or not these gentlemen have served us well as members of the hospital board can best be answered by viewing the physical evidence, the ambulance station and the Urgent Care Center, and not by listening to political speeches.

While some may be glad to see them rotate off the board later this year, those of us in Elgin who value real progress and quality health care appreciate their service and will be sorry to see them leave.
