Barry Sebastian Coleman, son of the late James Leroy Coleman, Sr. and Edith Fletcher Coleman, was born in Camden, SC on February 11, 1963 and was translated from Earth to Glory at KershawHealth Medical Center at 2:39 AM on Sunday, April 14, 2013.

Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, April, 17 2013 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Cedar Cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.

Barry received Christ at an early age, being baptized at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, where he attended Sunday School and sang in the Junior Choir. Barry was also educated in the public schools of Kershaw County, graduating from Camden High School in June of 1981. He then attended Benedict College in Columbia, SC, majoring in Chemistry with minors in Physics and Math.

Words are not enough to describe a unique individual who not only marched to the beat of his own drum, but created the music in which the drum played! Barry was a fun-loving person who kept his family and friends laughing with an uncanny wit; one-liners and stories that only Barry could pull off! He loved his family and lived by the premise that he would go to any lengths to protect those he loved by taking care of the problem in his own way.

He leaves to cherish his memories; a son, Lance Ashley Thomas of Camden, SC; his mother; one sister, Tonya Ann Peel; two brothers, Wayne (Pam) Marty Peel and Dr. James L. (Brenda) Coleman, Jr.; four aunts, Josephine F. Hunter of Camden, SC and Joyce C. Williams, Evelyn C. Sumpter and Carolyn C. Epps of Columbia, SC; two uncles, Willie and Lester Coleman of Columbia, SC; a host of nieces, nephews and beloved cousins who will greatly miss his presence.

Barry was preceded in death by his father, paternal and maternal grandparents, four aunts, five uncles and his beloved, "Ma", Millie "Chute" Butler-Fletcher.

Professional Services are entrusted to Cooke Funeral Home.
