POLO ACTION RETURNS to Camden with Sunday’s 13th annual Camden Cup.

The Camden Polo Field will come alive with the sounds of horse hooves pounding the turf and the crack of mallets hitting a ball as the 13th annual Camden Cup Polo Match returns on Sunday, May 5.
The Camden Cup --- an annual spring benefit for the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) --- will include the polo match as well as the popular best tailgate and Best Hat competitions.
The gates to the field will open to the public at 11 a.m. and the match will begin at 1:30 p.m. Concessions will be available for purchase.
Two regional teams will vie for The Camden Cup. All spectators can feel like a part of the match as tailgate spaces and tents are all located field side for an up close and personal view of the action which takes place on the country’s third-oldest polo-playing field. Patrons can enjoy a day with friends and family by tailgating, or just bring a chair and enjoy the match and other activities from the general admission viewing area.
Built in 1898, the Camden Polo Field is held in perpetual trust by the Palmetto Conservation Foundation and has been declared a National Landmark. The field is located on Polo Lane, off Highway 521 in Dusty Bend.
Proceeds from this event will benefit programming of the Fine Arts Center which produces the annual May revival of polo in Camden.
Here are the ticket options for the match:
General Admission: Advance tickets are $10 and will be $15 the day of the match for adults and children over the age of 12. Youngsters age 12 and under will be admitted free.
Anybody can walk in and buy a ticket. A space has been reserved by the field for those who just want to bring a blanket or chair and watch.  A limited amount of general admission parking spaces will be available off of Greene St. Signs will direct patrons to the parking area.
Tailgate Parking Space: $80. Provides space for one vehicle and allows tailgaters to set up beside the field. The space rental includes two adult general admission tickets.
In addition, commemorative Camden Polo T-shirts and visors will be available for purchase at the Fine Arts Center or at the polo field in the Fine Arts Center tent on the grounds.
