Enough is enough

I don’t want to make a habit of getting publicly involved in issues, but enough is enough. Every time I read the paper or listen to someone talk, it’s about how much more money the government or some agency wants to take from me and the rest of Kershaw County.

Hospitals, law enforcement and other governmental agencies are always requesting more money. I don’t have unlimited finances, why should they be allowed to? Don’t they realize that when they ask for more funding, it comes from us, the taxpayers?

I do a hear a voice for the people, Councilman Jimmy Jones. My husband and I appreciate him standing up for Kershaw County and guarding our finances. No elected representative should voluntarily provide funding to any agency without thoroughly investigating the reasons behind the needs of the agencies. I appreciate Councilman Jones asking the hard and direct questions necessary to get to the heart of the matter before spending my and the rest of the taxpayers’ money. The headlines and letters from a few individuals have not been kind to him, but let me assure him that I and a lot of people in Kershaw County realize that Councilman Jones’ efforts are spot on.

Thank you, Councilman Jones, for realizing that enough is enough.
