First reading of county budget Tuesday

Tuesday’s Kershaw County Council meeting will include first reading of the county’s proposed budget for the coming fiscal year. The fiscal year begins July 1 and ends June 30, 2014.

Also on the agenda is a public presentation from Tom Stabler of the S.C. Vocational Rehabilitation Department. Council will also begin discussing its timetable for appointments to the KershawHealth Board of Trustees. A public hearing in regards to an ordinance amending the Unified Code of Zoning and Land Development Regulations is included in the agenda as well. Council will also consider third and final reading of those regulations during the meeting.

Other ordinances for consideration Tuesday include:

• Third reading of an ordinance to amend the county’s zoning map designation for Tax Parcel #307-00-00-022 for Claude Campbell from RD-2 to R-15 and the designation for Tax Parcel #307-00-00-078 for Claude Campbell from MRD-1 and RD-2 to R-15;

• First reading of an ordinance to amend the county’s official zoning map designation for Tax Parcell #3-7-00-00-007 for Jacquelyn Joyner Pittman from RD-2 to R-15 and providing an effective date.

New business on the agenda includes a resolution recognizing Free Clinic Awareness Day; a resolution declaring the intention of Kershaw County to reimburse itself for certain expenditures with the proceeds of debt to be incurred by Kershaw County; equipment lease proposals; and the Lugoff Fire Department’s proposed budget for 2013-14.
