A limb falling on a line on Lakeview Avenue caused a power outage Tuesday morning in a residential section of Camden.

Deputy Public Works Director Sam Davis said city electric crews received word of the outage at 7:15 a.m.

"The line arced, which could have made it look briefly like it was on fire, but it wasn’t," Davis said.

The outage affected the Chesnut Street Circuit from the Dusty Bend substation, covering portions of Lakeview Avenue; Mill, Fair, Lyttleton, Chesnut and Laurens streets; and Sarsfield Avenue, Davis said.

He said power was restored by 8:30 a.m.

A power outage also occurred Wednesday afternoon, extending from the Dusty Bend area to Chesnut Street in Camden after an issue with an electric substation off of Railwood Avenue. Power was restored by 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
