Funeral services to celebrate the life of Marjorie Rast Parnell, 78, of Camden will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Hermitage Baptist Church with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Dr. Condy Richardson, Rev. Scott Roberts and Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family received friends Tuesday, December 14, 2010 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home Camden Chapel. Memorials may be in Mrs. Parnell’s memory to Hermitage Baptist Church, Arise and Build, 814 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Camden, SC 29020.

Mrs. Parnell, widow of Gary Parnell Jr. died Sunday, December 12, 2010. Born in Cartersville, SC she was the daughter of the late Felder Eugene Rast and Angie Hill Rast. She attended the Gleaners Sunday School Class at Hermitage Baptist Church where she was a member.

She is survived by her daughter, Candy P. Kooken and her husband Danny of Lugoff; sons, Gene Parnell and his wife Delores of Camden and Bobby Parnell and his fiancé Glen Poore of Camden; grandchildren, Eric Cooper and his wife Joany of Barnwell, Angie Shrader of Camden, Traci Henderson and her husband Tim of Summerville, Gary Parnell and his wife Joni of Camden, Tara Guerard and her husband Russell of Charleston, Amy Gambell of Lugoff, Angie Guy and her husband Lindsey of Boykin and Jim West and his wife Valerie of Lugoff and fourteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, F. E. Rast.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the owners and staff of Pinedale Residential Center and the staff of KershawHealth Hospice for their care of Mrs. Parnell.
