Show your Christmas spirit by sharing your blessings

Did you know that out of the 6 billion people on this planet, 2.1 billion of those people live on less than $2 a day? And out of those people, 880 million live on less than $1 a day? I didn’t know that either. But when I heard those statistics, I realized a few things.

I realized how much emphasis gets placed on money in today’s society, especially during the holiday season. For there to be so many others out there who live on so little, why do we feel like we never have enough? Compared to many places around the world, we are very, very blessed. Don’t you think we ought to share that blessing, in the true spirit of Christmas?  This Christmas I challenge you to impact someone’s life -- someone who really doesn’t have enough. It can be giving to someone who’s lost everything in a house fire and has nothing to give their kids on Christmas morning. It can be feeding little children from another country. It can be paying for the person’s meal behind you in line. It can be a prayer sent for someone you don’t even know. It can simply be a smile. You may never know the impact you had on someone’s life for your act of kindness.

When you realize just how greatly you are blessed, blessing someone else in turn becomes easy. So this Christmas, just as our world was once blessed with the greatest gift mankind every received, you too can be a blessing to someone.
