Miss Parrish, Capt. Balazs wed

Elizabeth Marie Parrish of Fayetteville, N.C., and Captain Benjamin Mark (Ben) Balazs, of Fayetteville, were united in marriage on September 11, 2010, in the garden of the Camden House Inn, in Camden, S.C. The Reverend Kevin Cauley, pastor of Darlington Presbyterian Church, performed the seven o’clock p.m. ceremony. Soloist was Mrs. Elizabeth Pacheco Rose and music was provided by the Herringbones of Charlotte, N.C., and bagpiper Mr. J.V. Hudson of Raleigh, N.C. A reception immediately followed the ceremony at the Camden House Inn.

The bride is the daughter of Charles Edward and Lisa Parrish, of Conway and Pamplico, and Thomas Savage and Karen Rose LaRoche of Camden. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lee Rose, of Naples, FL., and Mrs. Alma Ellis Parrish of Conway, and the late Mr. Clyde R. Parrish. She is also the step-granddaughter of Mrs. Florence Savage LaRoche Blackwell of Camden. She is a graduate of Camden High School and holds degrees from Clemson University and Illinois State University. She is a teacher and forensics coach at Cape Fear High School in Fayetteville, N.C.

The groom is the son of Ms. Patricia Gannon (Patti) Balazs of Darlington. He is the grandson of Lt. Colonel Roland (Rocky) and Mrs. Roberta (Bert) Gannon. He is a graduate of Darlington High School and earned a history degree from Francis Marion University. He is a Captain with the 82nd Airborne, 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the United States Army.

Matron of honor was Mrs. Lauren Parrish Hardee, of Conway, sister of the bride. Maid of honor was Miss Katherine Rose LaRoche, of Camden, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Julie Hohm Blinn, of Durham, N.C., formerly of Camden, and Mrs. Candace Vizachero Leon, of Fayetteville, N.C.

Best man was Lt. Joseph Allen Balazs, of Tacoma, WA, brother of the groom, and formerly of Darlington, SC, and groomsmen were Mr. James Michael Balazs, brother of the groom, and Mr. Matthew Charles Haynie, cousin of the groom.
After a wedding trip, the couple are being transferred to Fort Benning, in Columbus, Ga.
