Josephine Hardy Brown

Josephine Hardy Brown, affectionately known as "Ma-Hardy", entered into rest on August 7, 2013 at Bradford Oaks Center in Clinton, MD.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 12:00 PM at Ebenezer AME Zion Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Josephine Virginia Brown was born on December 24, 1936. She went to Jackson High School where she was a member of the Girls basketball team. She graduated in 1955. Shortly after graduating, Josephine moved to Washington, DC and, eventually to Mt. Vernon, NY.

Josephine worked as a nurse, starting out as a nurse’s aide and eventually went on to nursing school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked in Nursing Homes until she became a private duty nurse where she provided in home personal care.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Randall M. Hardy (Sharon), Janet L. Hardy-Jones (Ricky special son-in-law), Olin A. Hardy, Jackie R. Hardy, Bernard Brown (Regina), Nicole L. Brown. Her special children Kirk D. Jackson and Nargretta A. Jackson. Her grandchildren, Akeem Edwards, Tyshana Brown, Anthony Barnes, Valerie Hernandez, Dayelle "Day Day" Brown, Alana Barnes, Clarissa Mossop, Ricky E. Jones, Dayshawn Cameron, Malcolm Mossop, Jazmin Brown, Summer Dorsey, Bernard "BJ" Brown, Kailyn Brown. Her great grandchildren, Ani`Jah Hernandez and Mauriah Harrell. Her special grandchildren Quisha Jackson and Nashanta Jackson. Her aunt Carol Thompson (Glenn), various cousins and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Leola Jackson Walden and her step-father John E. Walden.
