The ladies of the We Three musical ensemble have been performing together for 15 years and know a thing or two about putting together an entertaining show. But, as member Phyllis David puts it, they’ve been wanting to try something a little new and a little different.

"We’re putting together a show that blends the creative arts," said David. "It will really be a fine dinner show, combining poetry, art and music."

This Saturday at the Palmetto Tea Room from 7 to 9 p.m., Terri Reed will be reading original poetry and writings, playing mandolin and singing original music, while her art and photography is displayed. Along with live entertainment, dinner will also be served for $10 a person. Proceeds go to Food for the Soul.

Not only will this event benefit charity, it will provide genuinely original entertainment as Reed performs her four-part program "Seasons of the South," which includes some partner musical support from the ladies of We Three (Phyllis David, Julia Halford and Linda Higgins). The show describes in music and poetry the progression of the seasons in the South, beginning with music and poetry inspired by summer, moving all the way through winter.

When asked what inspired her to create a program that transcended so many genres of art, Reed responded, "I can’t desribe inspiration in words. I can see it and feel it and it just comes out, but it’s hard to explain."

The show promises to be entertaining and inspirational. David encourages community members to come out for the show, saying "Terri makes others better with her energy. It will be a classy presentation of multiple arts, all for the right reasons."

Palmetto Tea Room is located at 1012 Broad St. in Camden, 272-0983. Tickets can be purchased for $10 at the door.
