Open house and hot dog lunch

Face-painting will be offered at the open house.

The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) invites all community members to the 2013 Arts Open House & Hot Dog Lunch on Saturday, August 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the FAC grounds. The event is free and the public is invited to attend. Attendees may take part in a community art project; tours of the FAC; pottery, dance and music demonstrations; and face-painting.

Entertainment for the day will include select numbers performed by the Chamber Choir of Kershaw County, as well as music by local band, Passages. In addition, members of the Camden Art Association, Camden Music Association, and the Quilters of Kershaw County, will be displaying their work and recruiting new members.

The Kershaw County Library will have the Bookmobile on site, the Camden Fire Department will have a fire truck on display, and Kona Ice will have delicious snow cones. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about the FAC’s upcoming fall season and classes at this fun, family-oriented event.

The FAC of Kershaw County is located at 810 Lyttleton St. in Camden. Gallery hours are Monday through Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Thursday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. For more information, call 425-7676 extension 300 or visit the FAC website at www.fineartscenter.org.
