Camden marketing consultants coming Sept. 18

Arnett Muldrow & Associates Ltd., the Greenville-based marketing firm contracted by the city of Camden to create a tourism plan, market assessment and branding plan for the city, will kick off its work with a public input meeting Sept 18.

According to a city of Camden press release, the planning process will include a series of individual interviews, roundtable meetings, and public engagement. The meetings will engage many organizations involved with tourism in Camden including but not limited to the city, Chamber of Commerce, Camden Business Alliance and major tourism partners and venues. The goal of the project is to better understand Camden’s tourism offerings and market dynamics in order to produce an action strategy and a collection of marketing material to capitalize on the community’s assets. 

The Sept. 18 public input meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce, in the historic Robert Mills Courthouse, 607 Broad St. The meeting is expected to last no longer than one hour and 15 minutes and will engage the public in a series of questions about its tourism offerings, marketing and identity. 

“Arnett Muldrow represents a transformational moment for the city and a turning point,” Mayor Tony Scully said. “We are a great city, but from here on in everything depends on our agreement about where we are going. We warmly encourage everyone who cares about Camden and our future to attend this important public input meeting on September 18th.”

Arnett Muldrow is leading the team that also includes Dr. Bob Brookover, director of The Clemson International Institute for Tourism Research and Development. Tripp Muldrow is serving as project manager and has worked with Dr. Brookover on tourism plans in several communities in South Carolina. including a comprehensive strategy for Spartanburg County.
