Tree limbs are believed responsible for a more than two-hour power outage in the northeast section of downtown Camden Monday night. Public Works Director Tom Couch said the outage affected the Chesnut Street circuit starting between 8 and 8:30 p.m.

“That included Ancrum, Lausanne and Sarsfield,” Couch said.

Residents on Facebook reported outages as far over as Lyttleton Street; Couch estimated the outage affected about 300 homes.

“We reset the circuit first and the power came back up except for Sarsfield Avenue,” he said. “We think it was tree limbs there because after trimming there and resetting that breaker, the power came back on.”

Couch said crews finished that work around 11 p.m.
