Colonial Cup road race set for Oct. 19

The 19th annual Marion duPont Scott Colonial Cup 10K road race and the Vonnie Holliday Foundation 5K run/walk will take to the streets of Camden on Saturday, Oct. 19.
The event will start and finish at Historic Camden Revolutionary War Park with runners and walkers taking the starter’s gun at 8:30 a.m.
The entry fee is $25 for those registering by Oct. 16 and $30 for those registering the morning of the event. A free race T-shirt, with the Colonial Cup logo, will be given out to the first 200 registrants.
All proceeds from the races will benefit the Kershaw County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs.
The 10K course will wind through the historic home district of Camden. Awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers along with age group awards.
Awards will be presented to the top male and females finishers and age group awards for the 5K walk. Group discounts will be available while pets and strollers are welcome for the 5K run/walk event.
In both instances, the courses are USAT&F certified.
