Community members are invited to learn more about the Kershaw County School District’s facility needs at a series of public meetings being held later this month and in October. Superintendent Frank Morgan and Operations Executive Director Billy Smith will hold a series of meetings across the county to explain the district’s building needs, answer questions and receive suggestions.

"Our district successfully completed Phase 1 of the facilities equalization program where, with good timing and solid financial management, we were able to build three new schools and expand facilities at seven others," Morgan said. "There has always been a plan to have Phase 2 to address the remaining building needs across the county. If we can fully address these issues, this should take care of any non-growth related needs for more than 30 years."

Morgan said meetings are being held in various locations across the county so that persons can attend at least one of them. He also said that the district’s website will be updated with photos and more details on plans being discussed.

All meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. and be held at the following locations:

• Thursday, October 3: Baron DeKalb Elementary

• Tuesday, October 22: North Central High

• Thursday, October 24: Leslie M. Stover Middle

• Tuesday, October 29: Camden High
