Saturday night’s Dancing with the Stars at the Fine Arts Center (FAC) event was, as volunteer services coordinator for the FAC Margaret Bishop said, "a great success!" Bishop commented that the show was met with "a sell-out crowd. It was a wonderful event for the FAC."

The event was modeled after the ABC television show and two winning teams were selected. The People’s Choice Award winning team was Karen Eckford and Cam Melton. The Technical Winner’s Award winning team was Byron Johnson and Rebecca Kelley.

Both teams were delighted by their wins and spoke to the positive effect the event had on the FAC. Eckford stated, "We won People’s Choice based on votes and donations given by our community. We were really very excited about winning that title because it meant that we were successful in raising funds for the FAC."

Eckford also said that she believed the "energy and competition between contestants drove up the numbers for the FAC and even though we won, everyone involved did a really good job. I appreciate the support of the community. They stepped up to the plate to donate to a worthy cause."

Johnson described his team’s victory as "exciting, and very challenging." He continued, "Everyone in the show did really well and I was so pleased that it was my team that won. Putting on a show like that is a lot harder than it looks. All the participants put in a lot of work and I was very impressed with what I saw. I hope the audience was too."

Director of Marketing for the FAC Jane Peterson confirmed that the audience was indeed very impressed with the performances. "The audience absolutely had a blast," she said. "There was so much excitement and so much enthusiasm. It was really through the roof and we are just tickled pink with this event’s success."

Peterson and the rest of the FAC sincerely thank all the teams that participated in the show and all the community members that donated and purchased tickets. "It was a complete sell-out," Peterson said. "We raised close to $20,000 for the FAC."
