MADISON FLOWERS DISHED OUT 27 assists in Camden’s sweep of A.C. Flora last Thursday.

Receiving the type of consistent effort she was looking for, Camden High volleyball head coach Paige Wilson received just that from her team in a pair of wins last week.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 6-1 in Region 4-AAA matches by sweeping both Lower Richland and A.C. Flora in three sets.
Against LR, last Tuesday, the Lady Bulldogs cruised to a 25-7, 25-17 and 25-8 victory in a contest in which Wilson was able to give all her players ample court time.
In that match, Kaitlyn Riley was 25-for-26 with eight aces from the service stripe. Morgan Wilson was perfect on each of her 12 serves with four aces while Madison Flowers was 10-of-11 with three aces.
Emma Buchanan led the way at the net as she made good on each of her 11 hitting attempts with six kills. Emma Nash and Kristen Carter were 6-for-7 each with three kills. Mary Best had five kills on a 7-for-9 night while Faith Grant was 7-of-8 with two kills and Owens Morgan had two kills as she was 6-for-7 hitting.
The trio of Caroline Kelly, Haley Maree and Wilson had a solid defensive night with a combined 40-of-46 passes to target as a group.
Two nights later, CHS had its hands full before defeating a game A.C. Flora squad, 26-24, 26-24 and 24-23.
“A.C. Flora is a young team with a lot of potential,” Wilson said following the hard-fought conference win. “They improved a lot from the first to second time we played them. They were up on us in all three games and we fought hard to come back.
“We need to work on not getting so far behind, but I was proud that we pulled out three close game wins from behind.”
Madison Grant and Michaela Taylor had a dozen kills each with Grant making good on 21 of her 23 chances while Taylor was 25-for-29. Buchanan had six kills (16-18), Morgan had five (14-17) and Best had four on a 9-for-11 night.
Morgan Wilson was 47-of-56 to target with her passes while Kelly was 24-of-35 and Maree was 10-for-13.
Flowers got the Lady Bulldogs in gear as she dished out 27 assists while Faith Grant had a pair of blocks at a key point in the match which helped pave the way for the win.
