David Ray, son of the late Angus and Annie Ray, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013, after a brief illness. He is survived by his partner, Artie Folk; brothers and sisters, Rendel Ray, Elaine Robertson (Bruce), Roger Ray, Charles Ray, Benny Ray (Vivian), Debbie Blackwell (Jim); and twenty three nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Susie Moseley and Goldie Moseley.

David was born on August 29, 1955. He worked in the Radiology Department at Kershaw Health for 34 years. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Cassett, S.C. His family considered him "always there" in times of need, comfort and reassurance. He loved his gardening, inside, outside and in the greenhouse. He especially loved to travel, by land, by air and by boat, cruising in and around Europe. He will also be missed by his two yorkshire terriers, Abbey Gale and Neville.

Visitation with David’s family will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2013, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with a memorial service following at 3:00 p.m. He will have a private burial in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
