Lugoff-Elgin, the Region 4-4A champion, was extended to four sets before defeating Easley in first round action of the 4A Upper State volleyball tournament.

The Lady Demons  knocked off Easley, a fourth-seed, in four sets winning the opener, 26-24, before the Green Wave took the second set, 25-22. The Lady Demons roared back to take sets three and four, 25-16 and 25-11, respectively.
Jessica Mullins’ squad hosted Nation Ford, which swept Gaffney, in Thursday’s second round. The winner of that match will meet the winner of the Northwestern-Hillcrest contest next Tuesday night. Should L-E and Hillcrest have won on Thursday, the Lady Demons will be on the road for the third round. The Lady Demons will be at home should they win and Northwestern upset the top-ranked Lady Rams.
