Proclamations, Maxway RFP on city agenda

Camden City Council will consider two proclamations during its regular meeting Tuesday night.

One of the proclamations will name November as National Hospice/Palliative Care Month, the other Nov. 17-23 as National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.

Council will also hear a special presentation from Economic Development Director Wade Luther on the status of the city request for proposals to redevelop the former Maxway property. Also Tuesday, council will receive its Fiscal Year 2013 audit from Mary Ellen Green of Cantey, Tiller, Pierce & Green LLP.

The meeting’s final agenda item is to consider several people for reappointment or appointment to the Price House Commission. Up for reappointment are current commissioners Josephine Hunter, Laura Jones, Polly Lampshire and Ponza Vaughan. Council will consider appointing Viveca Metze to one of two open seats with terms expiring July 31, 2016.

Tuesday’s meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. on the second floor of Camden City Hall, 1000 Lyttleton St., and is open to the public.
