Kick off Colonial Cup weekend at the Town Green in Camden for Friday night’s second annual Horsing Around on the Town Green featuring live music from the ever-popular band, The Root Doctors.
The event is free and open to the public.
The family friendly evening, co-hosted by the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County and the City of Camden, will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 10 p.m. with The Root Doctors expected to take the stage at 7 p.m.
With a set list of original songs and covers, the Root Doctors have been a staple on the Southeast concert and party scene since 1987 with their funk sound which combines bass and rhythm guitars and a horn section which gets their audience jumping.
In addition to the music, concert-goers are invited to bring their own chairs or blankets to the Town Green while enjoying food and drink options from vendors such as the Venue on Broad, Mae Frances Williams, Old Armory Steak & Seafood House, Palmetto Coffee Shoppe & Tea Room, New Horizons, Ginza and Sweet Carolina Cakes. Coolers are not allowed.
In the event of rain or, inclement weather, the event will be moved inside to the Wood Auditorium at the FAC, located on Lyttleton St. in Camden
