Katherine Choynowski, originally of Camden and currently residing in London, has led a rather interesting life in her 21 years. She attended Camden High School for her freshman and sophomore years and then moved to New York to pursue a modeling career.

Choynowski describes her modeling career as "successful" and found the time in those modeling years to finish school.

"I officially graduated from Camden High School," she said. "I had to come back for a semester to get my diploma after modeling."

Her interest in design and furniture, plus her network of international contacts, led Choynowski to create "an international design marketplace where new designers could display their products and, using social media, actually discuss their work with prospective customers."

Choynowski drew inspiration for starting her business,, from several sources. First, there is her mother.

"I was inspired to go into business by my mom," she said. "The earliest influence in my lfie was definitely her. I would watch her pour her heart and soul into building her property business from scratch, and I learned the meaning of hard work from her."

Choynowski said her mother encouraged her to never cut corners and always to "put in 100 percent!"

Another source of inspiration for Choynowski came from her career as a model. "I love nice interiors," she said. "When I look at a photo, I look at the background and consider everything in it -- the furniture, the environment that creates the photo."

Choynowski said she sees "furniture as a fashion statement."

Finally, she is inspired by the changing world she sees around her.

She explained that she wants to market to the "new generation of shoppers" and explained that because "social media connects everyone, many people are completely global."

She reflects on her life, and on the changes she experienced moving from Camden to New York to London and said, "My life is completely different now. I don’t know if you can even compare where I am now to where I began."

She added, "I would say to anyone from my hometown -- the world really is your oyster. Don’t wait around for the dream job. It may seem scary, but go out and do it for yourself. It’s so much more rewarding to be your own boss!"
