Rollie Reynolds III, a Kershaw County resident, holds his Employee of the Quarter certificate from the Lexington County Fire Service where he serves as an apparatus operator.

Rollie Reynolds, son of Gay and Rollie Reynolds, of Kershaw County, recently received the Employee of the Quarter award from the Lexington County Fire Service (LCFS) where he serves as an apparatus operator.

According to a LCFS press release, Reynolds is currently working on a hazardous materials incident cost recovery ordinance for the services’ emergency response team. Reynolds followed his chain of command to present the idea for this project, which he has taken on along with his regular shift duties.

“Not only does A/O Reynolds go above and beyond his regular duties during his shifts, he also serves on the Fire Service Honor Guard, which requires attending events and conferences on his days away from the fire station,” LCFS officials said. “A/O Reynolds has been involved with or headed up projects such as the Tunnel to Tower Run honoring our fallen heroes and the Fight for Air Stair Climb benefitting the American Lung Association.”

The LCFS said Reynolds asked to be placed on the emergency response team and that he has excelled in the position not only as an apparatus operator, but also when he fills in as battalion captain.

“He continues to go beyond the normal scope of his job duties to ensure his firefighters are well prepared to perform their duties,” LCFS officials said.
