Camden High School senior Madison Grant and junior teammate Morgan Wilson were named to the 2013 All-Region 4-AAA Volleyball Team as selected by the conference’s seven head coaches.
The Lady Bulldogs, led by head coach Paige Wilson, finished second in the circuit this past season and advanced to the second round of the AAA state tournament.
Grant, an outside hitter, was a two-year varsity starter for the Lady Bulldogs who earned all-tournament laurels from the Sumter Pike-Off tourney played in September.
Wilson, the team’s defensive specialist, has been a three-year varsity starter and was named to the all-tournament team at the Eastside Invitational in late September.
Paige Wilson said both players were deserving of the post-season accolades.
“I am very proud of both of these girls,” Wilson said. “They both worked very hard this season and are deserving of this award.
“Madison was a leader on and off the court and brought energy to the court. Madison’s hitting strength was finding and hitting the holes in any team’s defense.  Morgan was also a leader and talker on the court.  She brought a lot of experience to the court and always hustled.  She worked hard this year to learn a new position and was one of the leading servers for us this season.”
