L-EMS wrestles past CMS; Leopard Duals set for Saturday

Picking up where they left off last season, the Lugoff-Elgin Middle School wrestling team kicked off its 2013-14 campaign with a 51-27 victory over Camden Middle School on Tuesday night.
Winners of the 2013 Carolina Invitational, the Leopards won nine matches against the War Eagles. Ted Monroe’s troops received wins from Seth Wages at 82 pounds, Devin Wilson (90), Elijah Dixon (105), Lorenzo McGee (112), Jacob Carron (119), Reddek Kelly (126), Cameron Payne (132), Grant Wells (138) and Seth Branham (185).
L-EMS also had three wins in the preliminary bouts with Josh Boone, Hunter Mathis and Brandon Lankford posting victories.
Leopard Duals take to the mat Saturday: The Lugoff-Elgin Middle School wrestling program will host the Leopard Duals on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Leopards Lair at the school.
The annual event will begin at 9 a.m. Admission is $5 and a concession stand will be in operation throughout the day.
In addition to the hosts, Camden Middle School, Stover Middle School, Cheraw Middle School, Andrew Jackson Middle School and Lexington Middle School will be part of the tourney.
