Kershaw County Council will hear first reading in title only of an ordinance authorizing and approving development of a joint county industrial and business park to be known as “Project Apple Joint County Industrial and Business Park” in conjunction with Chesterfield County at Tuesday’s meeting.

Kershaw County Administrator Vic Carpenter said this was “standard action Council must take when a partner County wishes to add an industry to our ‘joint-county’ industrial park.” Carpenter also clarified that the action was “requested by Chesterfield for one their projects (and Council is) merely looking to ratify it.”

Council will also hear second reading of an ordinance amending ordinance No. 105.2007 regarding the County’s recreation advisory committee. In new business, council will review:

• an agreement with Black River Electric Cooperative;

• the purchase of four tankers for the county’s fire service;

• a joint meeting with Central Carolina Technical Collage; and

• a storm water discussion.

The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers at the Kershaw County Government Center, 515 Walnut St., in Camden and is open to the public.
