The Lugoff Fire Department (LFD) will have the honor of escorting Santa Claus through the neighborhoods in Lugoff again this year. Santa will be escorted through different areas of the Lugoff community each night. Lugoff firefighters enjoy this event each year so children can have the opportunity to see the "Jolly One" before he comes on Christmas night.

The LFD has been able to host this event for several years at the request of many members of the community. Many kids sit out on the front lawns of their homes waiting for Santa to arrive on the fire truck.

Parents can call the LFD at 438-2553 to find out which day Santa will visit their neighborhood.

The tentative schedule, weather and staff permitting, is as follows:

Monday: US 601 area and US 1/Pepperidge Area

Tuesday: Boulware Road Area and Conifer Acres Area

Thursday: Ward/Lachicotte Road Area and U.S. 1 South-Pine Mark/Four Seasons Area

Friday: Ridgeway Rd/S.C 34 Area and Pine Grove Road Area

Saturday, Dec. 21: Make-Up Day for areas missed

Santa will ride through each neighborhood on the fire engine from 6 to 8 p.m. nightly. Engine drivers will have the red lights activated on the fire truck and will carefully use the siren horn to let residents know Santa is riding through.
