The Kershaw County School District announced Monday that, due to a forecast of extreme cold weather and out of an abundance of caution, schools will open on a two-hour delay for students Tuesday. Staff will report at their normal time. Three- and 4-year-old students in morning classes will NOT attend. Breakfast will be served.

The district is delaying the beginning of school for students in order to allow more time for the start of school buses and inspecting the safety of all school entrance ways. Although the start of class time is delayed two hours, parents who need to drop off their students at the regular start time may still do so as employees will on site to supervise children.

School district administrators will continue to monitor weather conditions and will use the school's district automated telephone system, the KCSD website (www.kershaw.k12.sc.us), KCSD Facebook page, and local media to keep the public informed.
