Keenan thumps Knights

Keenan jumped to a 19-3 first quarter lead over visiting North Central never looked back in handing the visiting Knights an 89-24 loss in last Friday’s Region 3-AA opener for both teams.
The loss gave Andy Johnson’s Knights a 6-5 overall record.
The third-ranked Raiders held a more-than-comfortable 43-9 advantage at halftime and lead, 64-14, heading into the final eight minutes of play.
NC senior Kawan Hough posted another double-double to pace the guests as the 6-foot-7 center scored 11 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Banyon Sullivan was next with four points and six caroms. Lamont Frazier added four points while Antonio Parks grabbed six rebounds in the loss.
Following Tuesday’s home game with Pelion, North Central heads to Eau Claire on Friday night.

Mid-week contests: Wrestling takes center stage tonight for Kershaw County teams with Camden hosting second-ranked Chapin in a key Region 4-AAA pairing beginning at 6 p.m. Nation Ford will be at Lugoff-Elgin this evening for a 7 p.m. non-region match while Camden Military Academy joins Dreher for a 6 p.m. tri-match at Lower Richland.
Camden returns to the wrestling mat on Thursday as the 17th ranked Bulldogs welcome Hartsville to town for a 6 p.m. non-conference match. North Central kicks off its Region 3-AA wrestling campaign Thursday when the Knights and Eau Claire head to Keenan for a 6 p.m. tri-match.
