Miss Burns, Mr. Koven to Wed

Major General and Mrs. Julian Hall Burns of Camden announce the engagement of their daughter, Jacqueline Renee Burns, to Matthew William Douglas Koven. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Gale Koven of Marietta, Ga.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Julian Hall Burns, Sr., of Camden and of the late COL and Mrs. Fred Schumacher of Gettysburg, PA; and she is the niece of John Burns of Camden, Julianna Rieger of Kiawah and Helen Mims of Edgefield. Miss Burns graduated from Washington & Lee University in 2009 with a BA in Global Politics and currently resides in Washington, D.C.

The bridegroom-elect earned his BA in Economics from Williams College in 2009 and is currently a Senior Associate at Bregal Sagemount, a private equity firm in New York. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jerold Smothers, of Lone Tree, Iowa, and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bob Koven of Paducah, Kentucky.

An October wedding is planned in Camden.
