Alumni Football USA is seeking former Lugoff-Elgin High football players to sign up to play in a game against former players from rival Camden High in Camden.
Camden has been selected to participate in the 2014 Alumni Football USA Legends Series.
Founded in 2010 by former U.S. Marine Bob Cazet, Alumni Football USA raises money for schools using alumni football games as a fundraising vehicle.
Only the first 40 players will be given a roster spot for their respective schools. All games will be played in 2014-15 with the game site and date to be determined once the teams are formed.
The game itself is a full contact alumni football game with AFUSA rounding up players from rival schools to play each other in a game. Alumni Football USA provides the equipment, field liability, insurance, officials, announcer, chain gang, EMTs, security and organizes all game day activities for the contest.
In return for the use of the football field, the host school(s) receives 50 percent of all pre-sale ticket sales sold by the school with the host school earning additional funds by selling concessions and raffle tickets.
In 2012-13, AFUSA has helped participating schools earn more than $950,000.
To sign up to play in the game, players should call 1-866-843-8448 or (423) 557-2407 or go to the website located at
