Charles Ralph Simpson

A funeral service for Charles Ralph Simpson, 90, of Camden, SC, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 1, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Camden. Rev. Bruce Hancock will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Camden. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM, 1 hour prior to the service, in the church Fellowship Hall. Memorials may be made in his memory to Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 1333, Camden, SC 29021.

Charles Ralph Simpson, husband of LaVerne Ingram Simpson, died Thursday, January 30, 2014. He was born in Charlotte, NC, the son of the late Letha Tucker and Charles Calvin Simpson. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Camden. Ralph was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the European Theater and was a retired truck driver for Truluck Construction Company in Charleston, SC.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 61 years; his children, Charles Ralph Simpson, Jr. (Linda) of St. Mary’s, GA and Carolyn Morris of Camden; grandchildren, Rebecca Morris of Augusta, GA and Morgan Morris of Washington, DC; brother, Loyd Simpson of Locust, NC; and his sister, Louise Blackwelder of Midland, NC.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
