Leopards win WWRAC wrestling title

CMS, Stover wrestlers earn all-league honors

Fresh off winning the Carolina Invitational, the Lugoff-Elgin Middle School wrestling team captured Saturday’s inaugural West Wateree River Athletic Conference wrestling tournament. 
The Leopards defeated Camden Middle School, 49-26, in the championship match. 
Saturday’s title capped a 26-0 season for Ted Monroe’s troops whose eighth-grade wrestlers left the program with a 45-0 dual match record over the past two seasons.
The following wrestlers from L-EMS, Camden Middle and Stover Middle earned all-conference honors: 82 lbs. Seth Wages (L-E); 90 lbs. Devin Wilson (L-E); 98 lbs. Cameron Methe (Camden); 105 lbs. Elijah Dixon (L-E); 112 lbs. Jacob Carron (L-E); 119 lbs. Lorenzo McGee (L-E); 126 lbs. Reddek Kelly (L-E); 132 lbs. Chandler Griggs (Stover);  138 lbs. Jamaal Barr (Stover);  145 lbs. Gavin Ferguson (L-E); 167 lbs. Zach Phillips (Camden); 185 lbs. Seth Branham (L-E) and  heavyweight Racquez McCoy-DuBose (Stover).
